We had a new grocery store open near us “ Aldi “ and we were invited to visit it for a special preview to see what it was like.

I know ‘ you all ‘ know of the poison coming from china...
lead - kids toys
poison - in baby formulae
poison - in dog food
poison - in tooth paste, etc, etc, etc.

And how many other things and products but in this country we are the living dead and accept anything shoved in front of us. I also know that to many people will take what is offered not caring where it was made or by whom.

Now back to Aldi; we went to the preview and probably 80% or better the products are marked “ distributed by Aldi “. There is not indication of who made it or where it comes from.

What are they trying to hid? More poison from somewhere?

This year we put a garden in and all that comes from it we will freeze as a item or be made into something and then frozen.

We know where it came from and what was put into it.

We feel we eat better and healthier with our produce than poison from china or else where.

PEANUT BUTTER ANYONE?

We froze the peas.

We had fresh salads picked just before supper of radishes, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers ' hot and bell '.

The cabbage we made sourkraut and cole slaw, corn on the cob and will make cream corn for the freezer.

We froze green and yellow beans.

We have made soups and stews for the freezer

We are waiting for the brussels sprouts which we will freeze.

The tomatoes we will can tomato juice.

This is just a few things we have done with some of our produce.

BUT the best of all the Lord has given us such a supply we have given about 25% of it away.

A brother in the Lord brought us 3 big baskets of peaches and we made and canned juice,
we cut some up as fruit, some pies will be make to freeze and some will be canned for this winter.

NOTE...
The reason we get the peaches free is the orchard sort out the smaller size one and throws them away.
They are afraid to put them out for sale as they would be a cheaper price and they are afraid with the
economy the way it is the people would buy the cheaper priced ones and not the top shelf peaches.
Is this greed that they would throw away a good percentage of the crop just to make an extra buck?

But I am thankful that they come our way.

PS...
We made some tomato juice and canned.

Today we picked corn and creamed it and put it in the freezer in about 2 hours time.

The smell of it creaming it smells just as good when we use it later in the year.

You could not get it any fresher and with no poisons.

We are coming to the end of the garden season, yes we could still plant some things but there is nothing we want.

The Lord has given us a great bounty in the garden and we have canned about 125 jars of different things and I am not sure how many freezer containers we filled this year and we still want to make a few more soups.

Out of all we have picked the average is still about 25% that we have given away.

We have picked almost everything from the garden except...

Jalapeno peppers, the plants turned out to be 4 foot trees and producing so many I have now started to dry them.

We have given some away but we have trouble finding people who eat them.

There are some cucumbers yet, not many.

The brussel sprouts should be coming in soon.

Everything else has been picked and eaten or canned or frozen or given away.

The Lord has been good to us with the garden.

Yesterday we finally pulled everything that was left in the garden.

I T — I S — O V E R !

We need to get in a load of topping for the garden and spread it over the top and then cover it with plastic for the winter.

Then in spring we need to work up the surface and then start planting.

Lord willing.

We still need to cover it but other wise we are done this year.
