My computer went to "computer heaven" and I just got a new one B U T the computer co. transfered all the files to the new computer B U T I can't access them.

They come up as a static file and says this is not supported.

At this time I don't know how to get to them.

I have lost over 5 years of collections and writtings, I don't know if the Lord is telling me that the usefullness of this site is done and served it purpose.

If I can't get to the files I will leave the life of this site run out (which will be in about 3 weeks) and it will disappear, unless someone starts to use it actively WHICH I WOULD LIKE TO SEE.

I am at church doing this but have nothing I can access to post.

I got the new computer and the computer store took all the files off the old one and put on the new one.

LOTS of luck (LoL) the old files I was done with they transfered and the new files I was to use now I can't find.

I said my computer went to “ computer heaven “ but that's not the whole story.

After my computer died “ 10 - 12 years old " I went to the computer store to buy a new one.

I explained about the files I had and wanted them transferred. They said no problem.

I bought the new computer and 2 days later I went back to pick it up.

At home I had to configure the “ new ” to my use and tried to get into the old files to get back into the normal working.

BUT in trying to find the old files I came up with empty folders and could not find the things I wanted.

Then after 3 days use the “ new ” computer would not boot up.

I tried many things but to no avail. I finally stuck the “ reinstall ” disk in and tried to reinstall, ha-ha LOL.

I took the “ new ” by now 5 day old computer back to the store.

The ? experts ? tried everything they knew and could not boot it so they tried to reinstall and after it went through the complete reinstall a message came on the screen that it could not be done.

NOTHING and the computer would not eject the reinstall disc.

They agreed to give me a new/new computer and they would transfer all my files from the “ new ” to the “ new/new ” computer.

Two days later they called me they could not get anything off the “ new ” computer.

So now I am picking up a new/new computer with NONE of my old files.

What the computer experts would not tell me; that I could get a box and the “ old ” drive would fit into and take all the connections and feed then into a usb connector.

I got one at another store and mounted my “ old ” drive into it and connected it to my “new/new” computer and lo and behold all my files were there.

I copied them to my “ new/new ” computer and to a 1TB external HD.

So now I am in the process of converting the old files to the new OS.

It takes time and I am doing it slowly.

The Lord is allowing me to be healed physically and with the work we have around the property it will be some time to complete the converting.

I thank the Lord that I am able to do this and I ask the visitors to this site to be patient with me as I go through the files.

What a story; it is hard for me to believe what happened, but as the Lord tested my patience, it is working out.
