This is reasonbility long so I will post it over a couple post and at the end there is a test if you want to take and I will score it and return it to you.
======================
I will be helping to teaching a class on Spiritual Gifts.
I have not done a study on this before as I feel that God knows what He gave me better than I do and that He will put in front of me that what applicable to the gift(s). ( My outlook may be in error )
------------------------------
GIFTS, SPIRITUAL (Gr. charismata).
A theological term meaning any endowment that comes through the grace of God.
Romans 1:8
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.
Romans 1:9
God, whom I serve with my whole heart in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you
Romans 1:10
in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.
Romans 1:11
I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong —
Romans 1:12
that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.
Spiritual gifts were given for special tasks in and through the churches.
Romans 12:6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
Romans 12:7
If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;
Romans 12:8
if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
1 Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
1 Corinthians 14:1-33
They include the ability to speak an unlearned tongue.
1 Corinthians 12:30
The interpretation of tongues. Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

1Corinthians 14:27
If anyone speaks in a tongue, two — or at the most three — should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.
1Corinthians 14:28
If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.
Power to drive out evil spirits.
Matthew 8:16
When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
Acts 13:7
who was an attendant of the proconsul, Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.
Acts 13:8
But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.
Acts 13:9
Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight at Elymas and said,
Acts 13:10
“You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?
Acts 13:11
Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind, and for a time you will be unable to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
Acts 13:12
When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.
Special ability in healing the sick. Keenness of wisdom and special knowledge.
1Corinthians 12:4
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1Corinthians 12:5
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
1Corinthians 12:6
There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.
1Corinthians 12:7
Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
1Corinthians 12:8
To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
1Corinthians 12:9
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
1Corinthians 12:10
to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
1Corinthians 12:11
All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Prophecy.
Romans 12:6
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.
Romans 12:7
If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;
Romans 12:8
if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
Paul told the Corinthians to diligently seek these gifts (12:31),
but he pointed out that “the most excellent way” was love (12:31; 13:13).
1Corinthians 12:31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
Everyone is accountable for any gift given to him or her by the Holy Spirit.
1Corinthians 4:7
For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
Hebrews 2:4
God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
1Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
Claims of having such gifts are to be tested by doctrine.
1Corinthians 12:2
You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
1Corinthians 12:3
Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
And on moral grounds.
Matthew 7:15
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
Matthew 7:16
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?

Romans 8:9
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
There many Spiritual Gifts listed here but we must remember that these were the most important to the starting up of the Church of Christ. Today some of those Gifts are not as prevalent; such as speaking of tongue.
Today we have many extended Gifts and probably could not name them all.
One of the most important things to know is “what do you like to do?” Do you like cooking and helping with church dinners? then you have a gift of service.
Do you like to spread the word then it could be evangelism, mission trips, teaching or preaching.
What ever it may be we must know that the office itself is not the gift but the ability to fulfill the positions’ duties.
If the gift furthers the Glory of Christ; it is a Gift. Everything we are given is for that purpose alone. Nothing is for our glory it is for Christ and His Kingdom.
Below is a summary...
Romans 12 calls on believers to look at life from God’s perspective (vv. 1-2). Immediately Paul moves to explain God’s view of the individual believer within the community (vv. 3-8). Individuals are to see themselves as members of a body—parts of a living organism, within which each person has a distinct function. God has endowed each believer with a gift, an enablement that makes him or her able to contribute to others in the body.
Thus the church is an inter-dependent community, a living body, within which each of us “belongs to all the others” (v. 5) and is to serve others.
Only loving and intimate personal relationships create a context for that loving service in which spiritual gifts operate.
Each believer is given a gift to be used for the common good (v. 7).
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).
The grace gifts of the NT are always seen within the context of the Christian community. Although believers are called on to witness to, and to do good to, all people, the passages that examine spiritual gifts are focused on the shared life of members of the body of Christ. It is within the body that spiritual gifts function “for the common good” (1Corinthians 12:7).
Are all the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible? It is best to take the various gifts listed in Romans 12 and 1Corinthians 12 as representative rather than as an exhaustive listing of God’s endowments.

Any way in which we serve others and contribute to their lives must depend on the Holy Spirit’s working through us and should be considered a charisma.
Spiritual gifts operate as we lovingly respond to others and seek to serve them.
At times we mistakenly identify spiritual gifts with church offices or institutional roles. We should not assume that the spiritual gift of teaching is summed up by functioning in a Sunday school classroom.
Can a person have more than one spiritual gift? It is clear that Paul had more than one gift (1 Corinthians 14:18; 2 Corinthians 12:11-12). We know that each believer has at least one spiritual gift. There is no reason to believe that any individual is necessarily limited to one gift.
Many believers wonder what their spiritual gifts are. How can they find out?
It is important to remember that spiritual gifts operate in a kinship context. It is in a climate marked by intimate sharing and love that we respond to others’ needs and that God the Spirit ministers through us to serve them. Given this, we can outline the way that spiritual gifts can be identified.
Christians must develop close relationships with other believers. Within this context a person will respond appropriately to shared needs.
Christians must be willing to reach out and serve others, seeking to help and to minister to personal, emotional, material, and spiritual needs. In responding to others and in seeking to serve them.
The ministry of God the Spirit through the individual will eventually be recognized by others in the community of faith. It is the testimony of others concerning how God has worked through an individual that is decisive in identifying that person’s spiritual gifts.
In the OT, giving gifts is seen as an appropriate way for an inferior to approach a superior person, especially God. In the NT, we are shown the awesome fact that God has reversed this. God has taken the initiative and in Christ has bestowed wondrous gifts on humanity. The NT, then, introduces us to God as the great giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17).
God’s gifts are focused in and through Jesus. Jesus himself is God’s greatest gift, for through Jesus we are redeemed and given eternal life. But God also blesses us with gifts that come to us through Jesus.
Living together, united by the bonds of brotherly love, each of us is used by God to enrich our brothers and sisters and to stimulate their growth to Christian maturity.
I hope you have understood the information of Spiritual Gift and any questions will be answered.
Prayer;
Our Father in Heaven; I pray that any gift You have given me that I use it to further Your Glory in service of Your Church and I give any and all Glory to You; for everything is by you, from you through you. Thank You.
In Jesus Holy name.
Amen
This ends the study on Spiritual Gifts
The next post will start the test to check your Gifts.

Fruit unto God
There is a great deal we never think of calling religion that is still fruit unto
God, and garnered by Him into the harvest.
The fruits of the spirit are:
love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, patience, goodness.
I affirm that if these fruits are found in any form, whether you show your patience as a woman nursing a fretful child, or as a man attending to the vexing details of a business, being honest and true, besides, you bring forth fruit unto God.
Thank You
